Kelly Zwicker, MS, MSW, is a dedicated pre-licensed professional with a dual background in sport/ performance psychology and social work. Kelly has a particular clinical interest in anxiety, life transitions, stress management, relationship concerns, and perfectionism. Kelly's compassionate, strengths-based approach allows her to tailor therapeutic strategies uniquely suited to each client's individual needs and goals.
Kelly is particularly passionate about supporting athletes, performers, and first responders. As a former collegiate tennis player, Kelly experienced firsthand the importance of mental toughness and balance, fueling her dedication to helping others enhance performance, overcome mental blocks, boost motivation, and build resilience. Her extensive experience in crisis response equips her with a deep understanding of high-pressure environments, burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury that often affect helping professionals and high-achievers.
Kelly holds two master's degrees: one in Sport Psychology and another in Social Work. Her practical experience includes roles as a mental performance coach working with individuals, athletic teams, and corporate clients. She has provided education and training on psychological skills such as managing performance anxiety, developing effective self-talk, increasing concentration, utilizing mindfulness techniques, and enhancing team cohesion. Additionally, her research on social physique anxiety has informed her holistic and evidence-based interventions for body image concerns.
Beyond sport psychology, Kelly has served as a crisis advocate for survivors of domestic violence and provided case management and specialized support within social service organizations. Her practicum experience within a fire department CARES program allowed her to work closely with first responders, offering support during critical incidents and addressing burnout and compassion fatigue through targeted interventions and education.
Kelly utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for challenging negative thoughts, mindfulness for present-focused awareness, and brainspotting for unprocessed memories and emotions. Believing clients are the true experts of their own lives, Kelly emphasizes strengths, resources, and actionable steps to foster confidence, resilience, and self-empowerment.
Kelly is a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern working toward her clinical hours for licensure in the State of Florida. She has master's degrees in both Social Work and Sport Psychology.
