Neurodivergence

Neurodivergence

Neurodivergence is a broad term that refers to differences in how one's brain processes information, learns, and interacts with the world. Examples of neurodivergence include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, among others.

Therapy for clients with neurodivergence starts with creating a neurodiversity-affirming environment, prioritizing acceptance and empowerment. Our therapists can help build a safe, adaptable space that honors communication differences, respects sensory needs, and recognizes strengths, helping clients develop coping strategies and live authentically. Rather than attempt to change neurodivergent traits, strengths-based therapy can teach clients self-advocacy in relationships and life experiences in order to embrace their neurodivergence.
